 ICATAP was developed because rural communities across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and many other states were facing a severe shortage of healthcare workers. ICATAP’s apprenticeship program offers a practical solution by training local individuals who are committed to serving their home communities. Eliminating the barriers of cost, transportation, and time for potential apprentices while bringing committed individuals to the workforce, ICATAP is closing the gaps. A 98% pass rate for board certification illustrates the success of the healthcare partnerships with ICATAP.

Since our very first pilot in 2020 in the initial clinic system in Hayward WI, ICATAP programs are now located in 9 clinic systems and 24  locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
